Section 18 (A) Tax Certificates

Important Information for Donors Regarding Section 18A Receipts
In accordance with the latest directive from the South African Revenue Service (SARS), donors are advised of important updates affecting Section 18A tax-deductible donation receipts.

Effective 1 March 2023, the SARS Commissioner issued a public notice prescribing additional mandatory information that must be included on all Section 18A receipts. This measure ensures that donors can rightfully claim their tax deductions and that the receipts remain fully compliant with South African Revenue Service (SARS) regulations.

The following information is now required for every donation receipt issued after 1 March 2023:

  • Donor’s legal status (e.g. natural person, company, trust, etc.);
  • Identification type and country of issue (applicable to individuals);
  • Donor’s identification or registration number;
  • Income tax reference number (if available);
  • Contact number;
  • Email address;
  • A unique receipt number;
  • Trading name of the donor (if different from the registered name).

Please note:
Faith Cares is fully committed to complying with these SARS requirements. To ensure your donation remains tax-deductible, please provide the above information when making your contribution.

Failure to include this prescribed information may result in SARS disallowing your tax deduction claim.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our donor support team.

We thank you for your generosity and continued support.
